Lesson 3: Deliciuos

I use Delicious almost every day. It's a very important tool for many reference questions that we answer here at Humanities. I mostly use those tags that are related to our subject areas, and they are grouped under Fiction&Literature, History&Genealogy and Travel&Geography.

With this training I got a chance to explore Delicious beyond that. And I've found some amazing sites! For example, under Search Tools tag, I've discovered ALA Best Free Reference Websites, a list of outstanding reference sites that are updated annually! There is also WolframAlpha, a "knowledge engine", that gets information from its own database. It's very useful for comparing data (we have a lot of questions about distances between cities, for example).

Although I am really comfortable using those sites on Delicious that are related to my job, it was useful to become more familiar with other sites that are there.

As for the tips, I would suggest something that I've learned from Jerry F., from BSSS: sorting the bookmarks alphabetically and displaying the maximum number of bookmarks per page (100). That really helps with the tags with lot of entries.
